“Over time working in engineering, I’ve realised that my values weren’t quite aligned with the traditional methods of recruitment. There are so many candidates who are overlooked for reasons they don’t need to be.”
“There’s a lot of time pressures and a high level of competition and although this is useful for high volume and quick hires, it doesn’t tackle the biggest crisis engineering has ever faced, the STEM skills gap.”
Over time working in engineering, I’ve realised that my values weren’t quite aligned with the traditional methods of recruitment.
Anouska’s role of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Programme Manager will drive the growth of our Supported Hire offering, broaden the reach of our award winning programmes and consult with organisations on how to address their diversity and talent challenges.
“It’s very clear that there is a business case for diversity and inclusion.” Said the Diversity & Inclusion specialist.
“If you look at investors and customers, everybody’s thinking more about who they do business with and they want to do it with organisations who are diverse, sustainable and more robust.”
Speaking about her passion for Diversity, Equality and Inclusion, Anouska says that fighting for fairness has always been a part of who she is:
“I just hate anybody being treated unfairly or lesser than anybody else. I think a lot of the world’s problems would be solved if there was a greater spread of opportunity and wealth, if I can play my part in that then that’s what I want to do.”
Natalie Desty, Director of STEM Returners said:
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Anouska to STEM Returners. Her many years of recruitment experience, combined with her passion for diversity and inclusion, means she is exactly the right person to help us grow understanding, awareness and opportunities for returners to end the career break penalty for good.”
