We know that candidates acquire multiple skills on career breaks.
We know that candidates acquire multiple skills on career breaks.
We also know that taking a career break doesn’t mean you don’t want to restart the career that you worked so hard to build. We know that you are qualified, experienced and motivated and we know it should be simple. Unfortunately, we also know that it isn’t. We know that it can be difficult to articulate the skills that you have gained on a career break through standard recruitment channels, and to compete for roles against candidates with a continuous career. We know this gets harder and harder depending on the length of your career break.
How the programme benefits you.
Our 12-week placements with industry leaders in STEM gets rid of traditional recruitment’s barriers.
An opportunity to return to STEM
Whether you’ve had a previous career in STEM or whether you have never been able to put your skills to use in the industry, we can help you get your foot in the door and show your talent.
Update your knowledge & skills
If you’ve been out of the industry for any period of time, the STEM Returners Programme will give you the chance to refresh your in-work experience, adding depth to your CV.
Overcome the ‘career break curse’
We know CV gaps are often unavoidable and shouldn’t block you from returning to work. At STEM Returners we work hard to dismantle the barriers people face from standard recruitment channels.
Get mentoring from industry professionals
STEM Returners recognise that it can be difficult to return to work after a break from STEM industries.
The STEM Returners mentoring platform has been created to connect returners with STEM mentors who can offer support, encouragement and guidance during the mentee’s STEM Returners programme and beyond.

How do we help you return to work?
The STEM Returners programme will help you transition effectively back to your former career. Our standard programme takes the form of a 12-week placement with a host company, fully paid and an opportunity to achieve a permanent role at the end of the programme.
