Skillset and Experience:
- Relevant experience with fixed and/or floating offshore structures, such as offshore oil & gas facilities. Experience from transferable industries will also be considered eg submarines, ships, petrochemical, nuclear, power or utilities.
- Understanding of the structural Integrity Cycle, including the key steps of planning, enacting, checking, and feedback.
- Knowledge of relevant inspection techniques, including GVI/CVI as well as NDT, NII, etc.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of stake holders including clients, site-based personnel, technical discipline staff, and project management.
Any required qualifications:
- Engineering degree with Honours or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
Outline of initial work/role to be undertaken during the 12 week placement:
- Familiarisation with company, team and projects.
- Provide structural engineering support to client requests and issues, potentially being located within client offices.
- Assist our Oil and Gas clients with various ad hoc requests, including performing hand calculations, preparing inspection workbooks, writing reports, addressing operational integrity inquiries, handling lifting and laydown queries, and conducting both linear and non-linear analyses.
- Likely opportunities to go offshore.
- Develop technical and project skills through on-the-job experience, targeted training, mentoring, and continuing professional development.
- Work as part of an integrated team, ensuring client interaction and project delivery from multiple locations.

Working hours and pattern:
- Ideally full time. However, Kent are flexible and can support individual candidate requests. Full time is 40 hours a week and we offer a hybrid working pattern. 2/3 days in the Aberdeen office and 2/3 days working from home.
