Skillset and Experience:
- Commercial experience in software development using languages such as Java and SQL (are there any other languages that are transferrable?).
- Knowledge of software design and architecture principles.
- Knowledge of good testing and computing standards.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to learning new technological skills and self-development.
Any required qualifications:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM discipline (desirable, not mandatory).
Security Clearance requirements:
The role involves working on UK government projects, so SC-level security clearance is required. Applicants must be British nationals and have lived in the UK for the past 5 years without breaks.
Outline of initial work/role to be undertaken during the 12 week placement:
- Engage in a 12-week onboarding and training programme designed to refresh your technical skills.
- Contribute to the development and testing of software solutions within your first project.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain key systems.
- Receive tailored mentorship and guidance to support your return to a technical role.

- On site at our Wimbledon Office
Working hours and pattern (Site/Hybrid/Remote):
Full-time role, with a minimum of 3 days per week required in the office for software engineers and full-time in-office attendance during training.
