Skillset and Experience:
The Senior EC&I Engineer defines and distributes the scope of work to ensure that the EC&I elements of a project is executed safely, on time and at appropriate levels of quality. The Senior EC&I Engineer is responsible for the delivery of design and engineering to meet the requirements technical specification.
Working experience in two or more of the following EC&I areas is required:
- Mechanical Handling (including Remote in-cell handling)
- Process Instrumentation
- Functional Safety (to BS EN 61508/BS EN 61511)
- Machinery Safety (including BS EN 60204 and BS EN 13849)
- LV Distribution Systems (including experience in Trimble Pro-design)
In addition to the engineering experience above the following is also required:
- Working understanding of safety legislation and statutory regulations,
- Effective organisational and interpersonal skills,
- Good level of commercial awareness,
- Experience of leading design teams,
- Experience of managing sub-contracts.
- Understanding of design requirements to support safety cases,
- Previous experience of working within a highly regulated industry
Any required qualifications:
- Degree qualified in a relevant EC&I related subject. Candidates with lower level qualifications and considerable experience will also be considered.
- Able and motivated to work towards, or already have, Chartership with the IET. Support will be provided to work toward Chartership from NUVIA.
Security Clearance requirements (if applicable):
Eligibility for SC level security clearance is required – To be eligible for clearance you need to be a British National and have lived in the UK for the past 5 years with no breaks. Other Nationalities may also be considered, but 5 + years living in the UK is essential.
Outline of initial work/role to be undertaken during the 12 week placement:
- Familiarisation with Team and project(s).
- To provide support to new and ongoing live projects.
Location(s):
Warrington, home/remote working and occasional visits to suppliers and clients’ premises. Locations are project dependent.
Working hours and pattern:
37.5 Hours week – hybrid (at sites above)
