Skills and Experience
- A background in a combination of Computational Science, Mathematics and Physics
- Knowledge and experience of writing, debugging and maintaining existing and new physics modelling codes in C++, Fortran or Python
- An ability to problem solve and propose solutions to technical problems
- Various levels of roles available, from graduate through to senior computational scientists
Desirable but not essential:
- Experience working with HPC and/or parallel environment
- An understanding or awareness of nuclear physics
- An ability to communicate technical topics to both Subject Matter Experts and non-technical customers
Any required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in Computational Science, Mathematics or Physics or Applied PhD Maths or Physics candidates looking to transfer their knowledge in industry.
Outline of initial work/role to be undertaken:
- Continuous training and development in relevant technical areas
- Contributing to large scale physics simulations codes, bug fixing and developing new features
- Working in a multi-developer environment using tools such as source control and issue tracking software
- Assuring quality of products through activities such as creation and execution of software test plans
